Students and faculty of Theatre of the Performing Arts of Shreveport invites the public to join them for the 11th annual Yazzy Youth Celebrating Jazz Concert, 7 p.m., Friday, April 26, at The Riverview Theatre, 600 Clyde Fant Parkway, in downtown Shreveport.

This year’s theme is “A Salute to Women of Jazz.”  Guest artists include Pamela Williams, Jazz “Saxtress”, from Cleveland, Ohio and Michael Ward, jazz violinist from New Orleans. Shreveport’s own jazz musician Dorsey Summerfield, Jr. also serves as Yazzy project coordinator.

The Gardens of the American Rose Center will present our Green Thumb Educational Seminar on Saturday, Apr. 20 with SWEET ROSES AND SASSY FRUIT in tandem with their Celebration of Spring Bloom. Attendees will learn about low maintenance citrus fruit for their gardens and old garden roses. The learning continues after lunch with a variety of rose demonstrations.
