Title (Max 100 Characters)
The Shreveport Airport Authority has joined Shreveport and Bossier City schools to create a Christmas tree display at Shreveport Regional Airport.
For the second straight year, students are asked to make airport- or aviation-themed ornaments. Each tree will feature a different classroom ornament collection. The collection will be displayed on the pedestrian cross bridge at the top of the escalators at the airport.
The 14-foot-tall official Shreveport Regional Airport Christmas tree also features ornaments made by students that are their take on the Shreveport Airport Authority globe logo.
"We at Shreveport Regional Airport enjoy involving the community in our holiday celebration, and the pinnacle is the incredible contribution we receive from local schools. The Airport's Christmas Tree Lane comes to life thanks to the decorations adorning the trees,” said Bryant L. Francis, Director of Airports for the Shreveport Airport Authority.
Participating schools include Atkins Technology Elementary, Claiborne Fundamental Magnet Elementary, Forest Hill Elementary, Ridgewood Middle School, Riverside Elementary, Southern Hills Elementary and Walnut Hill Elementary/Middle School in Shreveport and Platt Elementary in Bossier City. The Christmas trees were donated to Shreveport Regional Airport by The Home Depot.
The Christmas trees and ornaments will be on display through New Year’s Day.
