School board member to host town hall | People

Curtis Hooks, Caddo Parish School Board member for District 5, will host a town hall meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 23.

The meeting will be held in the Fair Park High School auditorium, located at 3222 Greenwood Road.

Hooks plans to update the community on the different types of choice schools offered in Louisiana under Gov. Bobby Jindal’s plan for education and the effects of the plan on Caddo Parish schools. 

The community also will receive information on the status of Jindal’s plan. There will be a time for questions and answers at the meeting.
 
Special guests will be Walter Lee, Superintendent of DeSoto Parish Schools and member of the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) for District 4, State Representative Roy Burrell and State Representative Barbara Norton.
